"Children's
Fantasies" for Your Special Child
“Your creation for my grandson, Leo, made a huge hit with my family...especially Leo and his parents. The giclee prints made perfect gifts, so we could all share.”
- Chris Corbett, Andover, Massachusetts
“It was fun working on the poem with you, I was
going to give the giclee copies as Christmas presents, but couldn’t
wait."
- Paula Jo Tapp, Louisville, Kentucky

"Children's Fantasies" |
To learn more about how you
and your family can have an original keepsake for that special child, I
will send you details, prices, and a questionnaire to complete. This
helps me learn about the child’s favorite stories, toys, dolls, TV
characters, pets, friends and family. I would also need action
photographs.
I use this information to create a rough draft of a poem to share
with you for changes or additions. I send a pencil sketch of a
proposed layout subject to your suggested changes. The finished work can
be viewed prior to framing, or, if more practical, a photograph may be
sent.
The finished art can be a size appropriate for you. Most of my
commissions are about 24” x 30” including matting and frame, although
recent requests have been for a smaller version 22” x 17”, including
frame. (This came about when one grandfather, who commissioned two of the
larger size, said, “Can you do something smaller?... I have 32
grandchildren.”)
Since most parents or grandparents want other family members to share
the painting, I arrange for archival copies using the giclee process.
This is a photographic reproduction using watercolor inks on watercolor
paper. The result shows the dimension and feel of the original painting,
at a fraction of the cost. These are normally matted, film wrapped, and
ready for framing. (I’m told they make wonderful gifts to family
members).
After accepting a commission, I usually can complete the finished art in
six weeks. |

Excerpt from Poem Jacob sat thinking, in his best thinking pose.
He thought and thought the matter through
With his finger laid by the side of his nose.
(A think-trick he learned from Winnie the Pooh). |

Excerpt from
11 verse poem
“Play all Day”
Created for Caitlyn Tapp, Age 3
On the third day of April, two thousand and two,
A whirlwind appeared to Dave and PJ.
Caitlyn Tapp came out of the blue,
Announcing her intention to “Play all Day”. |
