Although I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I can remember, I became serious about it twenty years ago when I started studying with internationally respected artists. These included Robert Wade of Australia and Paul George of Gloucester.

I've recently had solo shows in Cambridge, Concord, Marblehead, and other venues. An exhibit in Salem prompted this comment by James Chisholm in his column “The Art of Salem”: “I highly recommend this show. Benneville Strohecker’s art demonstrates a generosity of spirit, an upbeat and fresh approach to the watercolor painting medium, both on a technical level and on a level of personal creativity. His paintings are a joy to behold.”

Perhaps I am best known as the founder of Harbor Sweets, the internationally popular gift chocolate company.
