"Children's Fantasies"
|
Although I’ve been drawing,
painting, and writing poetry ever since I can remember, I started to
give it my full attention about fifteen years ago, and began to
study with internationally respected artists.
These included Robert Wade of Australia, author of numerous books on watercolor instruction, with whom I studied in Europe and I spent many enjoyable days with Paul George painting on
the artist’s haven, Monhegan Island. Others include Charles Reid of
Connecticut and Ron Kullaway of Kennebunkport, Maine.
I am an Artist-Member of the Marblehead Arts Association where I
continue to have solo exhibits. Other solo shows include
the Atrium Gallery at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge,
the Winfisky Gallery at Salem State College, and the Cloister Gallery at St. Andrews in Marblehead.
Perhaps I am best known as the founder of
Harbor Sweets, Inc. the
internationally known gift chocolate company in Salem,
Massachusetts.(My clients often receive a gift box of Harbor Sweets with their
purchase). I was recently awarded the "Significant Sig" award, a national honor of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Time spent trying to help in my community is important to me. I
am a Trustee of the Episcopal Divinity School; founding Trustee, Essex County Community Foundation; and founder of the Lynn Area
Youth Summer Fund.
I welcome visitors to my seaside gallery/home in
Marblehead, where I live with my wife, Dr. Martha Dunn-Strohecker. |
